I thought "My Way" was excellent as well, and as a die-hard Sinatra fan, I didn't think anyone could do "My Way" and move me as much as Frank. Well, I was wrong on that score!
About the accent - I was surprised at that too, but there could be several reasons for it. I think he had been singing "My Way" for many years, and may have just improved singing it in English that way. Also, some artists learn the foreign words phonetically, and that often greatly improves pronounciation. Another thing is that he seems to be better at speaking English lately - perhaps that affected his song. People with a musical ear tend to also have great skill with foreign languages, as they are natural mimics. Could be all or none of these, I suppose - just my own theories!
