I have no idea why anyone would want to read this, but you do what you gotta do. I'm on the younger side of ancient (at least it feels that way when I try to get out of bed), but I still get around reasonably well. I joined this group in May of 1999 and have been relatively active in dribs and drabs ever since. I look more than I participate these days. I have two kids, a 22 year old daughter and college senior, and a 19 year old son who has just decided to quit college but has no idea what he wants to do. I graduated from Florida State University decades ago with a degree in elementary education but found I don't like kids enough to teach. I joined the Air Force and worked in the education office. It was in the A.F. I met and married my husband who is a pilot. When the kids came I became a full time Mom and Officer's Wife, which the A.F. told us for years was a full time job in itself. Officer's wives were not allowed to work, but were expected to volunteer their time. I volunteered with Red Cross and worked in OB/GYN and pharmacy. After my husband retired I went to work in a hospital as a pharmacy technician. Two years ago I became certified (not certifiable y'all) and moved to a small town hospital where my boss appreciates my efforts more than the big city hospital ever did. I like my job very much, but look forward to the evenings (which I have now that I don't work nights) to catching up on the DF here. I don't get to do it much when my husband is home, but as he sits reserve in Chicago for the airline ALL the time, it does give me a chance to keep my hand in, but I never catch up.
