M - Our next guest has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary opera. He has also recorded duets with other artists as diverse as Sarah Brightman and Celine Dion. It's wonderfull to have him here with us today, It's Andrea Bocelli!!

D - Andrea!!!!

AB - Thank you very much ( very loud cheering from the audience!)

D - It's really good to have you here because i know you don't often sit down and talk, you normally like to sing.

AB - It's my pleasure.

D - Now, you've just made an album called simply 'Andrea', and you're going to be singing one of the tracks from that album in a moment for us right? Your gonna do that?

AB - Yes.

D - The interesting thing is, the song has been written by Julio Iglesias's son, Enrique, and Robbie William's old friend Guy Chambers. Now, what are you doing mixing with this world of pop?

AB - No, first of all, i would like to tell you why i don't like to speak to the table like this, because my English is 'orrible! And, he he he!!

M - No it's not! Its very good!

AB - Really, my first words in English i was 35 years old, so, it's difficult. Anyway, i try!

D - I tell you, your English is better than my Italian!

AB - (Laughs) But it is not enough!!

D - OK

AB - Anyway, erm, yeah, it's been a beautifull experience, because this kind of song is different from my usual repertoire, no, and i remember they came at home to my house in order to record this song. There was the football match between Inghleterre, England and Portugal erm, so, but it has been a beautifull experience because they were so excited also for the football match! We work together very well.

D - He loves his football Robbie doesn't he!

M - Oh yeah!

M - Now, you sang with Celine Dion and she is a huge fan of yours, and she actually said, If God had a singing voice, he would sound like Andrea Bocelli. You can't get a better compliment than that can you!

AB - She,, oh........She said, (Big cheers from audience), She said, she said, really too much, but she has an angel voice i think.

M - Oh yeah, she is incredible.

AB - She's great.

D - The two of you singing together is a real treat. Now you, what i am trying to say here is Celine isnt the only person who is fond of you!
all the ladies, especially the, when we announced that you were coming on, all the ladies got a bit funny, is that something your'e getting used to by now?

AB - (Big sheepish grin)Ha ha ha! no, not really!

D - Don't be shy!

AB - No, I dont believe it! But im not so disappointed for this! (Coy smile)

D - We understand that dont we.

M - Now, youve been nominated twice at the Grammies, which is one of the most, the ultimate music awards in America really, and you have been compared to Pavorotti and Placido Domingo, how do you feel about that?

AB - Hmmm, err, i, difficult, difficult to answer. No, because they are, they are the biggest Tenor in the world, and err, 30 to 40 years erm, of career and I am too young for this!

D - Of course you are, your just a boy! You seem such a calm person, serene springs to mind, someone at peace with themselves. Are you as calm underneath all this, or is this just the exterior we see? Are you a calm person?

AB - No, i think to be very calm, erm, apart when i have to go onstage, because i suffer a lot of stage afraid...

D - Do you get nervous?

AB - Very much, yeah.

M - You would never know, because i have seen you in concert and you were magnificent! You hide it very well i have to say.

D - And your gonna be singing for us in a moment.

AB - Yeah, ok, ok!

D - well we are looking forward to that!

M - Thank you very much for coming in.

D - Thank you Andrea, thank you.

AB - Thank you very much. Andrea stands and says, I go??

D and M - Stay there!

AB - OK, yeah yeah, Thank you!

Andrea was dressed in brown shoes, blue jeans, dark grey shirt, and black velvet jacket.
He then took his place at the piano and sang Un Nuovo Giorno, with a small orchestra, very beautifull!
