For anyone interested in "sisterhood" and the intricate, complex, funny, witty, loving but sometimes frustrating relationships we woman form with each other, this is a book to read.
It is based upon Dinah, the sister of Joseph (Technicolour Dream Joseph) and covers the time when he and she were very small and how she was "lost" to the family through jealousy of their elder brothers, but how the bonds and strengths of her "sisterhood" with her mother, aunts and sisters helped her overcome the many struggles she faced.
I couldn't put it down and is definitely on my "read again" list.

I bought this book to read as I "liked the look of it", but soon lost concentration because of all the biblical names. Now, after your review, I think I'll give it another try. _________________ "Where are we REALLY going? Always home." |

Hi Sally.
It was the same for me at first, I was hopelessly confused by the many many biblical names, but its so worth the read if you can get past them.

This book was read by my book club and judged by all - 9 women - to be nothing more than commercial trash capitalizing on distorted biblical themes and trite, predictable women's "issues." Regradless, like so much other superficial stuff, it sold well and has a neat cover. _________________ Although, in his life, he was often called the imbecile from Illinois, history has proven otherwise. |
