:) This is for whoever asked about a non-bake cheesecake recipe awhile back on the DF.....I knew I had one and finally located it in my recipe archives today:

CHEESECAKE

8 oz. creamcheese
2 cups cold whole milk
1 (3&3/4 oz.) package of lemon or pineapple cream instant jello
1 baked graham cracker crust..9 inches

Stir cream cheese until very soft. Gradually blend in 1/2 of the milk until mixture is smooth. Add remaining milk and the pudding mix. Beat slowly just until blended-about one minute. Immediately pour into crust. Chill until firm...at least an hour. [/b]

Jo moved this over here to a Taste of Italy from Ruota Libera...but as far as I know authentic Italian recipes would not be likely to be using jello!!! But , well, what do I know??

Authentic Italian cheese cake uses ricotta and not cream cheese. Growing up around NYC, this was the only cheese cke I had ever tasted until visiting in the Midwest where they use cream cheese. But then again, they also used cottage cheese and ground beef in lasagna.

:D That is why this was originally posted in Ruota Libera...was never intended to be considered an Italian recipe :!: Hey jo! Maybe you should move this back after all!!! :?: This was in answer to an old post before the site was revamped tha last time.

But, hey! Marianne, do you have a no-bake recipe for  authentic Italian cheeecake :?: :?: Now that would be a treat to hear about! :!:
