ANDREA was amazing!!!
I had 1st row center seats and I could see that he definitely
was nervous when he first took the stage but the second he started
singing (Di quella pira, from ILTrovatore)he was definitely in control.
My God he's gorgeous!!!!
The the first half of the program was entirely opera and sacred arias
and he did ask the audience to "Think of the departed Holy Father"
before singing Panis Angelicus and Ave Maria. I don't know
why he apologizes for his English... He speaks quite well.
The second half was also mainly oprea but then he suprised us with "Because" ( the old wedding song by Hardelot), De L'Amore,
Sempre Mai, My Way and of course finished with Con Te Partiro.
After the concert there was a reception given by the National Italian
American Foundation. Andrea attended with Veronica(she's stunning in person.) Andrea was presented with cufflinks sent from Washington by President Bush. He thanked us for coming as the funds raised by tickets purchased for the reception are going towards the Bocelli Music Scholarship.
I apologize for not including the entire program or details
about Steven Mercurio (he's also amazing) and Patrizia Orciani
(I'm not crazy about sopranos) it's 1:45 AM and I have to go to
work tomorrow. |

Please don't apologize for your report done at 1:45am. I'm sorry that I had to miss him this time around,so I'm very appreciative of your report.
I envy your front row center seat but any seat there would have made me happy Thanks for the posting! :) _________________ Where there's life, there's hope |

Thanks for the report, georgiegirl. Was that your first time seeing Andrea in person? Front row center for the first time would be especially overwhelming. To BE THERE anytime is amazing but the front row center experience is awesome (had it once for half a show thanks to a GREAT FRIEND! ). I was just saying yesterday how the very best pictures of Andrea truly don't do him justice. You see him in person and can't help but have your very reaction, "My God he's gorgeous!!!!" |

No, I saw him at the Trump Taj in 2003 and the Tribute on Ice in November.
I believe I will be just excited and just as enthralled no matter
how many times I go to see him. He's the best....
