Andrea Bocelli was born on September 22, 1958 in La Sterza, a small town in Latajico. Lajatico is located in the Tuscany region of Italy.

Is Andrea Bocelli blind?
Andrea was born with a hereditary form of glaucoma. At the age of 12, an incident during a soccer game rendered him totally blind. You can read the story in his book, "The Music of Silence". (Harper Collins).

Andrea's wife, Enrica, filed for divorce a few years ago. Since then, he's had what appears to be an extremely satisfactory relationship with Veronica Berti. Veronica fulfills the role of Andrea's personal assistant and - in our opinion - has been instrumental in the direction Andrea's career has taken over the past couple of years. Andrea has two sons, Amos and Matteo, who he's extremely close to. Andrea is also a champion of fathers' rights in Italy and is actively involved in furthering this legislation.
