Fabulous song "Whiter Shade Of Pale". "Forever Autumn", stunning song. Perhaps Andrea will be moved to do a "60's 70's" CD!

For those who love The Moodies. Here is a link to their official site. It used to be less than wonderful...but is now darn good.

Special note to Sally in Manchester...October 01, 2006 Manchester, UK On Sale Now

They are always incredibly good live. I consider myself very fortunate to have seen them many times during their career...from 1969 to 2002....and they never once disappointed! Sadly, the past few years I have missed their tours due to family obligations. But still love watching their DVD's. Their latest DVD "Lovely To See You" live at The Greek is terrific. Almost as good as being there.

Another Moodies song I can hear Andrea doing is "For My Lady".

Of course, right now "Amor"/ "Amore" is my favorite CD...and I don't want to listen to anything else!

Best to all,
Crista

Claire,

Somewhere I read that Andrea Bocelli didn't like to sing in English or was uncomfortable doing it because he didn't know the language well enough. However, I really enjoy listening to him sing in English. I like listening to some people speak/sing in English when English is not their first language, they add a nice "flavor" to the sound.

In general I am a Rock & Roll and Folk Music person. I have some classical CDs and one oboe CD. I will check out his opera CDs to see if I recognize any of the songs.

My only negative comment about the Amore CD is Christina Aguilera. At about 1:35, 2:05 & 3:08 into the CD she sings in a tremolo or vibrato (I get the two confused). For me that is very amateurish and reminds me every body on American Idol which I stoped watching.

Bill, you are right,& Andrea, doesn't like to speak,and/or sing to much in english,& thinks he can not speak english well enough yet.He said he keeps trying though, and to forgive him....I like to hear him speaking in english.Like you said,it brings a nice flavour to the sound when they are learning english....

Bill,a really nice Classical cd of Andrea,is called "Sentimento"I think you would like the song called "Aranquez" {Dream ] This song is sang very strong by Andrea....You know, that was my comment on the song with Christine,& Andrea singing together,& i didn't like it with her singing. It's not her type of music at all....Like you said, it did sound Amateurish,& exactly like something we would hear on American Idol.

Hope you enjoy some of Andrea's classical CD's.

Regards to you too.
Friend, Claire.

I agree with the comments regarding Christina Aguilera's performance on "Somos Novios"...I think she has a powerful voice, in it's own way beautiful, but all in all; I like the song better without her contribution. The "vibrato" or whatever that is, just is not pleasing in the song.

I would have loved to hear a duet with Laura Pausini doing the same song. Has Andrea ever performed with Laura? She has a stunning voice. Elegant, passionate.

Does anyone know, when duet partners are chosen are the choices made from a primarily artistic point of view? Or is it more the idea that a duet with a certain performer will bring new/additional fans to the fold? I think that may have been the factor in choosing Christina; she has a lot of fans, many of whom might not listen to or purchase a Bocelli cd if she were not on it... So it may be an excellent choice from a business view.

Every other aspect of "Amor" / "Amore" is perfection. I always use both titles, because I love both versions. The all Spanish and the multi lingual versions both have their individual treasures! One seems to need both!

I am watching yet another showing of the PBS special but this one has some interviews with Andrea during the pledge sections and he says he did hear Christina on the radio during a visit to the US and immediately wanted to record with her because she has a voice that is an instrument, a voice like an angel.

So I would think choosing her for the album was an artistic choice.

Back to the show!

Hello,Crista.
I too, watched this pbs special,& enjoyed it very much. I love to hear Andrea, talking. He did say he wanted to sing with Christina,& that she had a voice like an Angel. She has a great Voice, but i just didn't like the way she sounded with Andrea, but that was his choice....Hope you enjoyed the show as much as i did.

Hug's to you.
Claire.

Oh gosh Claire, "enjoy" is an understatement! This is my favorite PBS concert since "The Moody Blues, A Night At Red Rocks" back in 1993!!!

We have two PBS stations and they have both been showing "Amore"! It is a "Viewer Favorite" so it is on again several times this week. One station had the local pledge drive, but the other station featured another area's drive (sounds like the one you saw too...was that Boston?)with Andrea's interviews. Really nice chat with him.

Could one "overdose" on viewings of this special? silly
I hope not. As I cannot stop myself from watching yet again...

Hahahahahaha. Yes Crista. I know i could over dose watching Andrea,& even be addicted, which i think i am.Hahahahaha.
I love to watch Andrea,in anything he does. Sighsssssssss kiss.

Crista,i don't remember if what i watched was from Boston,& maby it wasn't the same one you are talking about. I might have missed Andrea,in some of his appearances. I don't know....You sound like me,because i watch what i taped again,& again too,but that is his LLV Concert. He sang alot of the songs from "Amore" CD.

Admgroov, Hi.
"Procal Harum" Didn't he sing Whiter shade of Pale? That song is so beautiful. I sure do like it.

Claire

Procol Harum was a British group of the 1960s, led by keyboard player Gary Booker, who used to live in my home town. It was he who wrote Whiter Shade of Pale. It still rates as one of my favourites, but I still don't understand a word of it. But then, there's a hell of a lot of Paul Simon I like, and he is the ultimate wordsmith - the songs may not make a lick of sense at times but they come across so well. Who else could have included the line 'meeting at the cinematographer's party' (one of the songs from Graceland)?

As for the Moodies, has anyone metioned Isn't Life Strange? A beautiful song sung by Justin HAyward.

Hello,Peter. I just love the song Procol Harem plays"Whiter shade of Pale"
It's beautiful, and i didn't no that Gary Booker wrote this song. I knew he is the keyboard player. It is a hard song to understand the words.

Paul,Simon is great too....Wow! one of the songs at Graceland.
As for the Moody Blues song, "Isn't life Strange" I absolutely love it. Justin Hayward is Fabulous. bouncy

I wonder if someday,Bocelli might get to sing with the Moodie's.?

Claire.
