The following is a amessage from Holly, Claire's daughter, and was sent to enclude everyone...She is asking for prayers for her mother..Jack was Claire's brother...
I'm sure most of you remember Claire..a very sweet lady and an adoring fan...

Things have been so hectic since my Uncle Jack passed away on July 6th from a heart attack, right in front of my mom. She tried to revive him.......

My brother Emil convinced our mother that she couldn't possibly stay in that house all by herself and pay all those bills with just her SS check.

Ron and I went up to MD, rented a truck, packed up mom's stuff and came back home on Sept. 10th. Then, I started taking mom back and forth to Urgent Care for her not feeling well. Yesterday, another visit to Urgent Care and her chest xray revealed Pheumonia.
I spent 9 hrs + in the hospital with my mom last night and they admitted her. Her chest x-ray, according to the emergency room attending physician said: "Your chest looks very UGLY!" I've never heard anything put quite like that before. I looked at her xrays, the ones taken at Urgent Care, and on the left side of her lung is a big BLACK tornado...shaped just like a twister....whatever you wanna call it.
Also, moms spine, which I saw on those xrays is not a pretty site either! Looks like Osteoporosis. Guess, at moms age, 70 that's expected.
Anyway, I'm sure mom will be fine in a few days. They're pumping her full of antibiotics to wipe out that pheumonia, and my mom has always been very strong and heals quickly.

She's admitted at Sentara Leigh Hospital
Just thought I'd let you know why you haven't seen or heard from me in awhile.

My prayers are with you my dear friend. Get well soon, you sweet, gentle soul. Your love and compassion for your dear brothers is without measure. It's time for your family to take care of you while you're ill, so be a good girl and rest !!!

An update on Claire from her daughter....

An update on CI will make this email short, as I am completely exausted here. I was present when the Dr. came in to talk with mom this morning.

Yesterday, they took her down for 4 more tests. A bone scan, cat scan and a biopsy. Today she's having an MRI done......we won't know about the results on that for a few days.

Mom's pneumonia and colitis have cleared up, but her condition is more serious than the initial visit to the hospital. Mom has cancer on her right lung and it's also spread to her liver.

The MRI they're taking today, hopefully won't show any signs of cancer spreading there.

Mom will be home this evening after I pick her up from the hospital, and on Oct 3rd moms appt is with a cancer specialist, who will give mom her options for treatment on how to beat this!

Mom beat cancer once before and she can do it again with lots of prayers and God's will. I really need my mother for awhile longer! All the family wants her around for lots more years.

I'm going to rest now till mom calls for me to pick her up. She'll be so happy to leave that place and be in her own bed. And, that will make me happy :)

Claire, I do hope you are feeling stronger by now. You are such a lovely lady, a fact which is proved by your having so many people here who care about you. Holly, you will have your work cut out looking after your mum, but don't forget to take care of yourself. She needs you to give her strength. My thoughts are with both of you.

It is with sadness I post another update on Claire...

Concerning moms cancer. Couldn't get back to you before now since things have been pretty caotic. But, mom's appointment with the Oncologist was yesterday. It completely is ripping my heart out to let everyone know mom's state, but now the MRI that was done before she left the hospital last week indicates the cancer has also spread to her BRAIN. Her type of cancer is small cell lung cancer and there's 5 stages, and mom is in stage 4.

Mom started getting her first treatment today of radiation and chemo. The oncologist specified without any treatment at all her life expectency is 4 - 6 weeks, and with the treatment 9 -12 months. Doctors can say whatever they want or put a time on things like this. Starting next week mom will be getting radiation 5 times a week and the chemo 3 times per week. It's going to be a long haul from that point on for our family. Please keep us in your prayers, as we'll all need much strength to endure and overcome this hurdle. Especially when me and two of my brothers Emil and Joe are in poor poor health, and Jesse, the oldest brother is having some difficulties with pain in his shoulders.

Only GOD and his son Jesus Christ know how much longer mom will be with us. I've had my little talk with GOD, he's never let me down, he's always answered my prayers, and mom beat cancer once, and by GODS will, she'll beat it again. Mom doesn't wanna go anywhere just yet! Mom is waiting to see her grandson Ronnie in his first movie which is being filmed right now. And, mom told her oncologist today, if she loses her hair in a week or so, Ron and I have plenty she can choose from. hahahahhaaaaaaaa.....Mom is so funny! Mom would like to wear my Patsy Cline wig :) Mom looks good in black hair...and looks like Patsy Cline anyway.
