I thought all of the songs on ANDREA were written for Andrea which would mean that if Mario has ever sung "Per Noi", he would be doing it for his own personal pleasure and not have done it before the ANDREA cd came out. I don't know for certain, either, though.
If any of the other Mario fans out there get to go to a signing and don't already have a question in mind to ask him, I want to pass along one of the ones I thought of while waiting in line. Does he have any plans to record an ARIA-type album like so many of the tenors now seem to do, after Andrea showed them the way of course. :slick I think he'd do a great job with that and it would let him have an entire classical album. He doesn't have one yet--that I know of, anyway. BTW--does Mario have any other cds besides SOMETIMES I DREAM and FOLLOW YOUR HEART??? There weren't any others shown in the liner notes but I thought maybe you FranFans out there might have some inside info. :slick |

To entertain you while another fan of Mario's shows up with more detailed information, here are some links:

As you can see, Mario has been around before Andrea, so I don't think anyone can say that he came out of the woods just yesterday. :slick _________________ "Canto alla vita alla sua bellezza ad ogni sua

Mario Frangoulis has many other recordings, mostly made in Greece.I have Acropolis Concert live in the Acropolis. Many beautiful songs, mostly in Greek.Anothre album Ero Fergari-more English and French and Greek.
He speaks fluently i English Italian,French,Spanish and of course Greek. At 17 he studied at London's Guildhall of music which led him to 3 stage plays in England -Grease,Westside Story and Phantom of the Opera. In
1993 he won Maria Callas classical scholarship to take him to NY.Julliard
Dchool of Music. After this Luciano Pavoroti gave him another scholarship
to Philadelphia. When Alfredo Kraus heard him sing,he took him all over
Italy while Alfredo was in concert and remained Kraus's only student.
Mario has sung in Russia, Helsinki Japan and China to name a few
countries. When his first American album Sometimes I Dream came out
people started to notice him and Sony(his record co) gave him his own site and 2 yrs.ago i joined a Yahoo group which has expanded by leaps and bounds. Now Mexico has a site in US.
I forgot one opera he did in LOndon-Macbeth.,but Greece wanted him back and he complied untiil now.Jim Leachman,a great composer and pianist heard him once on PBS and this year asked him to join him.
Needless to say he astounded the American people and after 20 concerts will end up in Carnege Hall May 6.
During the the month of April he is going alone to South Africa.Mario was born there in Rhodesia and when uprisings took place he was sent to Athens at 4 yrs. to live with an aunt, and never returned.
I have never heard him sing Per Noi but someday he would like to
record arias, and he has the backround to do it.He also studied violin
but hasn't shown his talent as yet.
I personally think we need his voice in the US-we've had too much
rap and hard metal and unbecoming attire and behavior.Andrea and
someone like Mario are bringing back music the young people can learn
and appreciate. Still love the "man" Bocelli Dottie |

The Oscar® night celebration serves as their primary media awareness and fundraising event. This year, they will reach even more children with their annual Day of the Child events in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Chicago and Israel. The results speak for themselves. On Sept 29 2006 Mario F dedicated his concert to Mario Lanza (his idol)
at Herod Atticus at the foot of the Acropolis in Athens Greece.Heaven knows when thid album will come out .It was awesome.
The one I attended last year in Athens still has not come out. There are many arias in both tapes. I have a copy of last years and the many arias are thrilling., especially "Caruso"
I will report when they are released. Dottie |

Hi Janice,
Here are a few more tid bits of Mario, I forgot to mention. To me he seems tall (have a few pictures with him) but I'm 5'2" tall.
He had the role of Marius in Les Miserables for more than a year in London. The song "Tables and Chairs " came from that show.I think it was in 1989.In Athens he wore the same black velvet vest from the wedding scene in L.M. Still fitted him.
The soprano you hear is an English girl that he met in at the same school he attended and they became "close . She stayed in England to further her studies and married there but they are still friends and she is in many concerts with him.I met her in Athens and she is adorable. Her name is Deborah Meyers.
The last time I saw Andrea was in Las Vegas. He still has part of my heart
This June I was in Cambridge to see Mario and Andrea was in Boston
Mario sang "it's Time to Say Goodbye" in honor of Andrea.
