Ciao Emily,

I have not yet found it in my local shop but, but I'll be going to larger stores this weekend. It's Cavalleria Rusticana, by Mascagni is due out in 2007. It's understandable for confusion to arise as the two operas are usually performed together.

Has anyone "out there" purchased I pagliacci yet? I'm eager to hear what everyone thinks of the recording. I'm hoping "Babbo Natale"gives it to me for Christmas!

E' possibile!
Anna

The reviews on Amazon for "Pagliacci" are terrible. Can any fan who has listened to this cd give Andrea a supportive review?

I have it, got (bad english) it at Amazon.com, While I review most of Bo's albums at amazon I have only reviewed one of his full lenght operas, it was La Boheme, even though I have them all.

I don't have it yet so I can't say anything at amazon. I've put some reviews up over there but not for awhile. I'd help this cause, though, if I could! bouncy Rick, I'm curious as to why you haven't posted a "Pagliacci" review. I do enjoy your Bocelli postings at amazon. banana Do you not like it? If not, then by all means DON'T post a review! eek

Is it my imagination that since the Avery Fisher concert, Andrea's credibility as a classical operatic singer has become tarnished beyond repair? The critics of his stadium concerts seem to mention his operatic weaknesses in comparison to his pop strengths. The critics review of Pagliacci on Amazon (now removed) was degrading. Is this a new trend?

After looking for days at the local music stores I gave up and ordered it from Amazon.com, paid for quick service and 2 days late, today received it..I have listened to it once. It is completely clean and wonderful to listen to. Canio's part (Andrea) is small, compared to the others, but he sounds wonderful. The rest of the cast is very good also. It is nice to hear Ana in Opera and not always singing the famous arias in concert.. You can certainly recognize Mercerio's conducting technique if you are familiar with him. It is worth much more then the $18.00. I am sure Andrea recorded this awhile ago, but the whole cast did a wonderful job. The only other performance I have heard is Pav's and it is every bit as good. We should not listen to the critics. I know it is hard not to read, but these people have an agenda..There is a wonderful sound in Andrea's voice that you get in a few Opera singers in every generation, just enjoy it. The cover is not so nice, but who cares.

Thank you, Marilyn. I look forward to hearing it soon.

I thought I'd mention that I just found it online at iTunes, so for those of you with ipods, etc. , you can plug in and listen to a sampling of each track before buying.

Searching for my Nano....
