I'm sorry I didn't think to post this sooner--before any tickets went on sale. There have been tours in the past where people went to their first Bocelli concert and were actually DISAPPOINTED! :o :x They expected the concerts to be "pop" oriented or staged like "A Night in Tuscany" where half the concert was classical and half was pop. NOT gonna happen! I've been to six concerts going back to 1999 and the format has always been the same. They are CLASSICAL shows. Andrea will sing solo arias and duets with the soprano from operas. The soprano will also get solo numbers and the orchestra will play one or two songs alone. Andrea will also sing what are known as "Neopolitan" songs. This is the category things like "O Sole Mio" and "Santa Lucia Luntana" fall into. Sometimes he will do a sacred song from the "Sacred Arias" cd. Pop songs have always been done ONLY as encores. How many? It depends. On what? Who knows! I've been to concerts where there have been two or three encores and heard of concerts where there were
five! Those folks were LUCKY! Anyway, just wanted to let any concert newbies out there know what goes on. Have a GREAT time everybody! :D |

Yes---that is a very good point---I hadn't thought of that before. But then, I love the format he uses----mostly classical. I think he has stated before in interviews that he prefers it this way. It is fun though, near the end, when he sings the pop selections----the audience loves it. At the Atlanta concert last Dec., he did four encores---and the audience, which was a little reserved in the beginning, got louder with each encore, until the finale (Con te Partiro, of course) when they were ROARING their approval. That was a fun night. :D _________________ "To sing, to sing, to sing......." (Andrea revealing his future plans to Classic fm) |

Hi Janice...I totally agree with you, as a matter of fact, Andrea could sing, Old Mcdonald Had A Farm" and it would be classical..Just looking at him IS classical(sigh, sigh) _________________ What you truly believe of another, you awaken within them |

| I, too, love the format of the concerts. I've just always, ALWAYS been irked after attending a fABulous show to come online and see a post or two from people saying things like, "that concert was all OPERA! :x He should have sung things from ROMANZA." ROMANZA may be the only cd they ever purchased but Andrea is SO much more than that! :D |

 By the third or fourth Bocelli concert I saw I thought I about had it with the opera as Gasdia was the soprano instead of Martinez and it seemed to be even more opera then prior.
Funny thing now I love the opera better then the pop. The added flute and piano playing at the Sentimento concerts were a great extra touch to the program.
Can't wait to see my next Bocelli concert.
