This was my 4th magical experience of the charismatic force that is Andrea Bocelli. Andrea's popularity seems to transcend both social and generation boundaries. Everyone from grandmothers to dapper young men in cravats, turned up at the National Indoor Arena to see him perform. Having experienced Dublin, Glasgow and now Birmingham, on this current tour, I concur with Neil and Dodona that this was a truly wonderful performance.
Having overcome his customary early concert nerves, Andrea seduced the audience as his sweet vocals drifted effortlessly from note to note through his traditional repertoire of Verdi, Tosti and Rodrigo. He was skilfully backed by the British Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by the superb Marcello Rota, however, I was disappointed not to hear Maria Luigia Borsi again - she was simply sublime in Glasgow. Having said that, the soprano on the night was also very good. I just felt the chemistry between Andrea and Maria in Glasgow added to the performance.
Andrea's performances are so powerful they transport you to another place, a place in which time stands still and all wordly problems apparently dissolve. He sang with such passion and energy that, even though you don't understand the language, you can feel it, and he makes you feel. Like Glasgow, there were more than a few tears - his rendering of Sogno, in particular, seems to trigger the emotions.
This was a fitting end to the final British leg of the "Sentimento" tour - a truly uplifting experience. I wish him a speedy return.
I feel sorry for those who experienced difficulty with poor seating and inhibited viewing in the venue. It really ought not to happen. Just so long as their hearing was not affected in any way, at least they could appreciate the sheer beauty of this enchanting man's melodious voice. |

Isnīt it amazing in His concerts how the music lifts you up in to a diffrent level....you feel you are "in the music" sitting on a cloud drawn by a carriage of most beautiful notes.... 8)
p.s. I were not in the Birmingham concert but in Tallinn in August  |

| I,too was privileged to be at the Birmingham concert & experienced probably the best night of my life. I was also at Wembley last year but to me Birmingham even topped that. after a very traumatic summer (breast cancer + mastectomy last month) Andrea has put me well & truly on the road to recovery. In fact, without his music over the last three months in particular I would never have coped. not looking for sympathy just wanted to express what an impact this wonderful man makes on peoples lives. I only wish I could thank him for what he has done for me personally. |

| :D I have been very priviledged to have been at the last two Classical Brits, Hyde park and Wembley Arena and each time I thought that they couldn't be bettered but I was wrong!Andrea seems to me to improve every time I hear him. :) I was carried away and still haven't really come back to earth a week later. When I first sat down and found how close the seat in front of me was I thought that my legs would be killing me by the end of the concert, but I was so taken over by that beautiful voice I didn't give them a second thought. :o As several of my favourites were included in the programme I was SO lucky.I know every one of his fans must feel like this, but,Andrea PLEASE come back soon. :D |

| :D Guest: Thank you and all for such terrific and delightful reports on e Birmingham and other concerts. Although I've not had this wonderful experience - it is still a dream for me to see Andrea Bocelli in concert. His voice IS extremely healing - I agree so much with you. It is a mysterious quality, but there is no doubt that it exists. Listening to his music has lifted me from depression and illness. It is a beautiful testimony that his voice has brought you such healing and peacefulness in your health journey. Thank you for sharing that part of your life with us. My best wishes are sent for your good health and joy. Your Bocelli Friend, Jean |

Cameling 81,
You will be treated to the experience of a lifetime in Providence. AB's recent UK performances even eclipsed his success of recent years. I'm sure you will also acknowledge his transendence.
Please come back and share your sentiments with us afterwards. Why not make your evening complete by joining Melodie and friends at their pre-concert bash. I'm sure they'll be delighted.
Melodie recently posted AB's european repertoire on the site. I understand from others that his program may change in the US. |

| I found this site today and I just had to share my feelings about Andrea. No other singer's voice has moved, transported and - yes - healed me like Andrea's. It has a quality that is impossible to define. I have read critics who say this is wrong, or that is not quite right - but they are not LISTENING with their hearts. I was privileged to be at Andrea's Birmingham concert with my father and we were both moved to tears. His voice was magnificent. I have a long term illness which causes me to be tired and in pain. I can honestly say that listening to Andrea takes me away from all my problems. His music takes me to work in my car and brings me home and whatever sort of day I have had, I feel renewed! I watched Andrea on stage and felt so much respect and wonder at all he has achieved. So don't listen to any critics - WE know what we love - and we love Andrea. |

Hello! Am so glad you found this site and encourage you to register and post again often so that we can all have the pleasure of knowing you on a "first-name basis". We all understand what you wrote because it's the same with us :D Maybe not any long term illness exactly, but we know what it's like to have Mr. Bocelli's singing alleviate our pain, be it emotional, physical or whatever. I hope you get 100% well soon. ~~ Becky |
