Just finished this really great book. About a man whose wife falls out of a tree and dies. The only witness is their dog and the man who is a linguist decides to try to teach his dog how to talk as his wife left some troubling clues before her death. As odd as the story sounds, it is about love, grief and discovery. Really one of the best I've read in a while. And if you're a sucker for dogs it's a bonus.

Sorry, should have included that. Carolyn Parkhurst is the author.
