Hi Bocelli Fans, :roll:
just wanted to spread the word about another great opera singer, Renée Fleming. If you love Andrea, I strongly recommend Renee's music as well because she has one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard. Recently she released her new album "By Request" . If you haven’t heard any of her music, my personal favorite is her signature aria, 'Song to the Moon’. I also found out that there are currently limited editions of her signed Cds that are being auctioned on Ebay for a limited time as part of an exclusive deal from Universal. I personally love this CD, which has a compilations of her best stuff yet. For more info, you can go check out the website at www.universalmusicstore.com. Yes I know, we have heard her :D . Me and my wife have cd or two and she really posses a most beautiful soprano. Here in Finland not long time ago they showed a master course of hers in TV held if I remember correctly either in France or in Austria? She is also a good pedagog, how she handled those music students and their way to express themselves. She is very popular among opera houses and a wanted quest allover the worlds opera houses.

No, not yet. We are still waiting to get those tickets to Norma. Turandot will take place in the end of February so this winter there is much to wait for and of course the spring. Now we got our tickets to Rome Italy and we got a hotel near the spanish stairs. I can´t wait to see the magnicficient Rome that Romulus and Remus gave birth to thousands of years ago :wink:

I am also a big fan of the American soprano Renee Fleming. Last year she joined Bryn Terfel (recently duetted with AB "The Pearl Fishers) to produce a CD which superbly demonstrates their luscious voices whether in their solos or in tandem. Both have steered their repertoire choices away from the obviously operatic and focused on music more of their time. I revelled in the sensual beauty and heightened emotion that great singing should never fail to provide. She is definitely worth a listen.

I am not too familiar with Ana María Martínez, but will check her out. Thanks for the info! Renee is an American singer; she was born in Pennsylvania, but grew up in Rochester NY. I love Renee'! Within three months I seen Renee' in two operas and two concerts. She was great in everyone. I'll be seeing her in LaTraviata and Rusalka at the MET this spring.
I have all her CDs but not all her opera CDs. I'm working on it though.

Cara mia Signora Innamorata, we arrive to Rome 1st April and will be at the premises for three nights. Would loved to stay for whole week but our babies are waiting us at home :wink: . You mentioned a pasta called "Penne alla vodka" is one gradient of it Finlandia vodka? :wink: , I´m sure its tasty and I promise to you to try it and will tell you in the first place when arrived home how it was. One of my hobbies is to make nice dishes at home, yesterday I made pasta carbonara as I now its a typical Roman dish. Made it from file bacon some onion little garlic some herbs and cream and with it pecorino romana parmasan.....my family liked it and hoped I´ll make it some other time also.... very tasty dish and quick to make. A perfect food for a winterday :D
This trip is actually our 15th anniversary trip which we planned to make last year but my mothers renewed melanoma and her quick death first postponed and then cancelled our planned anerversary trip : . Now after almost a years sorrow behind I´m sure my mother would love to give us some happiness and joy and she will always travel within my heart.
Sorry cara mia if I´m not answering your questions in chronological order...this is not my first time to Italy It was 1972 when we stayed in Astano just otherside of border in Switzerland in our family fiends house and they were here in Finland in our summer house. We visited Milano few times but I was quite young boy then. This time we will surely get much out of this trip and remember it warmly 8)

Angelo drooled (do you capito that word?) over your pasta carbonara with eggs and bacon that you made yesterday. That is one of his favorite dishes and believe me, he misses it...lol! Hahaaahaaaa I know what you mean I drool even if walking outside and get a delicious smell in my nose....grabbing a tissue from pocket...Would be honoured to have you two in my table and dine with us some good pasta and a nice bottle of Brunello di Montalacino, afterwards espresso and grappa maybe....would love this :wink: Nothing is more important and enjoyalble than good food and friends to share the food with, its all you need :lol: Hey tell Angelo that I prefer also pecorino romana.

I am not sure why we didn't go there in 1978 when we were there - but perhaps we did go and they were closed that day (I don't remember). That happened to Angelo and I in 1997. We went to the Spanish Steps many times during those 5 weeks, but it was during the month of August and Cafe Greco was closed for the month, which can be typical of places during August. Many of them shut down their business and fly to Finland, you know! ehehehe!!
Anyway caro... it would make me extremely happy if you could see my Great Great Great Great Uncle's letter - the letter I have never even seen. You can read it and laugh and say, "wow, I know his niece"....LoL! Si si, it's a small world afterall....si, bello? *sorrisi*
We are just so excited for your trip, Kenzu! Make sure you have some pizza bianca while you are in Rome, too. Angelo has a recipe for it... we have to find it and send it to you. It's such a basic (and easy) thing to make but OH it's sooo good. Especially with stew on top of it. I am so so so so homesick for Italy, I could just sit down and have a little cry. a beautiful cry though, not a sad cry. I really miss it and wish we could be there. In my next life, I am going to be Italian, caro! eheheh!
Happy vacation dreaming! Kisses to you and your wife and tell her that I am extremely happy for her! I just wish I could watch your children so you could stay longer then three days. When you can, tell me how many hours it takes to fly to Italy from Finland. It's a longggggggg flight from California, but worth every second of those 783934 hours.

Wou, your relative have left his bookmarks in Rome...we try to find it with all our capability and inform you asap we get back caro mio :)....You give us such a good hints :wink:, we will certainly taste pizza bianco and I am waiting eagerly the receipy of it. Other my favorite pasta sauce is a Bolognese with celery,carrots,onions,garlic, pomodori,minced meat and herbs.After you have cooked everything together you add some good redwine in and let it concoct. Great with fusilli or penne. This pasta sauce is also good if you watch a bit what you eat(I should but....) because there is hardly any fat at all in it. This is a pasta our children like the most and whats great you can use whats left of the stew for a pizza next or following day :D
Our flight to Rome takes about 5 1/2 hours its reasonable, don´t like to sit in jets : . In 1978 when I vistited my uncle in L.A the flight took 24h. It was DC10 strike, and had to change plain in Seattle. Flew Helsinki-Stockholm-Copenhagen-Seattle-Los Angeles. It was my first time ever in a jet and it was a adventure I will never foget.
