If coming from Florence, what is the best route to take to get to La Sterza and Lajatico?

I will only be dreaming of Tosca with all of you but when I visit Andrea's birthplace and his homeland I will be totally satisfied...for a bit. In any event, thanks to the information I am gathering through you wonderful people, my trip will be better than it could have ever been.
