Mexico can says that he has the best tenor of America, and I can say that in the future he will be the best tenor of the world.

I'm a great fan of Bocelli but this tenor (Rolando Villason) has a terrific voice, his kind of voice is like a lyric-dramatic tenor and he had done a lot of operas in Mexico and Europe. In France Rolando recived the prize of the best tenor of the French teather of Paris, and now you can buy his CD of the most beautiful arias of the Italian opera.

In Mexico was the best tenor who performance La Traviata and L'elisir d'amore and now he is going to performance in Europe, Manon Lescaut from Puccini.

I have seen a short segment on this tenor from South America. He directs and sings, etc... He has a very strong voice, but I have no other information. Anyone else heard of this guy?[/u]

All about Rolando Villazon can be found on his own website. It contains also a gallery with his drawings and cartoons. http://www.rolandovillazon.com/
The other tenor, the one that sings AND conducts, is José Cura. That is, if you mean a young tenor. Placido Domingo is also conducting more and more lately. José Cura was, if I remember well, also a protégé of Domingo when he started. Domingo was born in Spain but studied in Mexico, and Cura was born in South America.

Jose Cura also conducted, orchestrated and sung on a CD of Argentinian love songs called Anhelo. I have it and it's very good. I recommend it.
