While waiting for "Andrea" CD release we can spend some time reading:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0385509723/102-1650479-4365721?v=glance
It seems to be one of those "not to be missed" stories. _________________ "Canto alla vita alla sua bellezza ad ogni sua

I just read the editorial review - doesn't that sound like a fun book!!! It comes out on the 19th... it sounds very entertaining! I'll have to add that to the list of library books I want to read.
Thanks for the shared info on it, Nellie!
Dottie... if you see this, there is also a book called Mario Lanza: An American Tragedy (Great Voices). It was on the link page Nellie offered everyone. I think you would love the Mario book, too. Here's a direct link to that link page - and below that link, a link to a HUGE photo of Mario when he was young. Keep your slippers on, bella!!

Don't forget to check the 2nd link, Dottie... you'll llllove it!! _________________ Don't marry the man you can live with... marry the man you can't live without ~ |

Nellie............... !!
I have definately gotten the impression from posts over these months that you love Italian music as much as I do.... and have I got a newsflash for you! An incredibly special friend just sent me an envelope of cd's and then a box of cd's (oh good God, I am beside myself) and one of them is the new 'Pooh" cd called "Ascolto"...... and between my friends overwhelming generosity, Andrea's new song Sin Tu Amore today , Willma's post to Anne-Marie and this Pooh disc I have on, I am about ready to burst with rivers of ocean tears. This cd is fantastic, I just don't know which end is UP in this moment!! I just had to share this cd title with you because I got the impression awhile back that you like several other Italian singers that I do, which makes me more then sure you would flip out for this album, too. Another "Pooh" MUST for your collection (when you can) is the "Buonanotte ai Suonatori" disc (its a double cd). That is another Pooh disc that will leave any woman breathless, as will this "Ascolta" disc of there's.
My husband is laughing at me as I am sliding down the chair as I type. Oooooh my God, you NEED this Ascolta disc Nellie! Trust me on this!
Ok. I can sleep better now. Buy it when you can. You will treasure it! (the Buonanotte ai Suonatori double cd set as well)
*slip sliding oooh.....in a glassy daze*
why oh why does Italy have to be so damn far awayyyyyyy? _________________ Don't marry the man you can live with... marry the man you can't live without ~ |

Thank you, Sandy. Yes, I am crazy about Italian pop music and other things Italian... I found the place where I can order the I Pooh CDs mentioned in your post. Italy is not that far... not from me. I've just to cross the Atlantic. On second thought, I will wait until my next trip to buy the CDs... A good excuse to use the airline ticket I bought to go to TDL to see Andrea and which trip I had to cancel. What do you think? In the meantime, I am listening to a bunch of midis I found in these websites:
http://www.aruga.com/pooh/ - (click on Links)
http://www.ticino.com/usr/stefano/Midi/Index.html
P.S. On third thought, I better buy the CDs here because the prices are a lot cheaper. I checked them against Italian websites and they are much higher and in Euro... Like the sunglasses I bought in Italy last March... Exactly the same brand and model (designer original). I could buy them here in NYC for US$100 less. _________________ "Canto alla vita alla sua bellezza ad ogni sua

Si si Nellie, I vote for the third option. The two cd's I spoke of you just out of this world. I am very leary of highly reccomending cd's because of course, everyone has different tastes, but I swear on my stack of Bocelli cd's, one can not go wrong with either of these 2 specific Pooh cd's. We have a couple of other Pooh cd's too - but these 2 cd's I suggested - oh oh oh oh oh - no words!
Here they are again:
Pooh
Buonanotte ai Suonatori (2 cd's)
----- and -----
Ascolta (this is their latest one)
You'll have to pull yourself off the ceiling if you do get them. They are just "that" good. I thought of you the other night when I was listening to my new Ascolta cd and couldn't resist sharing these 2 cd titles with you. Plllease order them to celebrate the new autumn season (you can justify it by calling them a wee early Christmas gift to yourself) ehehe!
Thanks for the midi link, I had never seen that one before. I've book marked it and will dive into it tonight. Grazie!
(p.s... if you think the Italian glasses were expensive in Italy, try having an Italian husband and who needed an immigration attorney... lollllllllllll)
I tease him all the time still and say,
"sheeesh, Amore! and you men say us WOMEN are expensive! HA!"

It will be worth the expense, for both of you. I don't know if it is just in my mind, but I have the impression that Italian men "age" very nicely... :puppydog And he is very lucky to have such an intelligent wife with such a great sense of humor. :hypno
I already put those 2 "Pooh" CDS in my shopping cart and I will checkout as soon as I pay all my bills from my recent trip.
Tonight I saw on "Domenica In" - RAI International another of my old favorite Italian groups:
http://www.cuginidicampagna.com/
singing "Anima Mia". I can't believe they sounded as good as 20 years ago. Frank Sinatra incorporated this song in his repertoire and they showed him very proudly singing it in English. It was awesome! _________________ "Canto alla vita alla sua bellezza ad ogni sua
