|
I just wondered if any of you Fan's have heard the Moody Blues singing the same song that Andrea, sings called, [ When a Child is Born? ]. I've listened to it and it's beautiful, but the end note is not held a long time like Andrea holds it.
If i had a link to post the Moody Blues singing the same song, that would be nice. Does anyone know where Moody Blues links can be found for listening to some of there music?
Thanks.

Love The Moody Blues!
You can listen to a clip of The Moody Blues' version of "When A Child Is Born" at
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000DJYOD/104-6438709-2811152?v=glance&n=5174
The Moodies version is quite different from Andrea's...but just as lovely.

Hi Claire,
If you or anyone else would like to hear additional Moody Blues; selected tracks by the Moodies are available at this link:
http://www.moodyblues.co.uk/music.htm
It has a few of their better known songs.
I can imagine Andrea singing a couple of Moodies songs! I think a song of Justin Hayward's; "Broken Dream", which is on Justin's "View From The Hill" CD, would be so wonderful performed by Andrea...it is a gorgeous melody with a romantic and very touching lyric...I can just hear Andrea' s stunning voice on that song!
"Nights In White Satin"(also written by Justin Hayward), which was done beautifully by Mario Frangoulis on his "Sometimes I Dream"CD, would be another gem done by Bocelli!!!
So much terrific music out there to enjoy. _________________ "If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft,

Oh,thanks so much again for this link. It is very nice....Justin Hayward's "broken dream" is so beautiful. That would be a perfect song for Andrea. I wish some how that he could perform with the Moody Blues. I realize they are getting older, bur they still perform...."Night's in white satin" I can hear Andrea, singing it,& how beautiful it would be....Mario Frangoulis,is a wonderful singer. His CD "Sometimes i Dream"Is just wonderful,& yes,he did sing "Nights in white satin"Magnificently....
It sure would be a Gem,done by Andrea,Bocelli. Maby one day he will meet the Moody Blues,& i love the old song by them name is "Land of make belief"Everyone would just love that song by Bocelli,& even the Moody Blues would. There music is perfect for Bocelli too.... You are right, that there is alot of terrific music out in the world to enyoy.
Thanks again.

"Land Of Make Believe", is another beauty! You are right.
Had to copy the lyrics to "Broken Dream" for anyone not familiar with the song...the lyrics, in my opinion, are tailor made for Andrea!
Broken Dream lyrics
By Justin Hayward
ONE MORE ILLUSION SHATTERED
ONE MORE BROKEN DREAM
OH THAT THE MORNING BRINGS THE SUN
GONE ARE THE DAYS WHEN I COULD BOUNCE RIGHT BACK AGAIN
SEE HOW THE TEARS ROLL DOWN
LIKE SWEET SUMMER RAIN
WHERE DOES IT LEAVE ME NOW
I FIND MYSELF SO FREE AGAIN
EVEN THE SMALLEST TRACES
OF YOUR SWEET PERFUME
OPEN THE FLOOD GATES AND I M HELPLESS
NOW AS THE MOONLIGHT SHADOWS
CAST ACROSS MY ROOM
ONLY THE WHISPERED WORDS
ARE HEARD IN THE NIGHT
ONLY A SILENT PRAYER
I LOVE YOU STILL
I ALWAYS WILL
OUT OF THE DARK I STUMBLED
INTO THE LIGHT
ONLY MY FEAR HAS TUMBLED
I THINK I ALWAYS KNEW
THAT I WOULD RUN TO YOU
SOMEWHERE THERE'S CHILDREN PLAYING
SOMEWHERE FAR AWAY
RUNNING WITH OPEN ARMS TO GREET ME
OVER THE HILL THE SUNSET
DIES AND FADES AWAY
I TURN AND I CLOSE THE DOOR
WITH ONE LAST GOODBYE
I WILL RETURN NO MORE
I'LL TAKE MY HEART AND LET IT FLY
So beautiful.
I hope, like you, Andrea and The Moodies meet and work together...They travel in similar circles. So maybe someday... _________________ "If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft,

I went to see the Moodies at Salford University when they were at the height of their fame. They used what was then a revolutionary Moog Synthesizer to achieve their haunting melodies. Halfway through the first set it conked out, but the Moodies carried on regardless and were outstanding. I absolutely loved Nights in White Satin, but Forever Autumn was also one of my favourites. Perhaps Andrea might like to consider that one, too. _________________ "Where are we REALLY going? Always home." |

| I absolutely love Nights in White Satin. My son and daughter in-law have a rock and roll band and this is one they play often as I always request it. I'd love to hear Andrea sing it too. Another one I love and would like to hear Andrea sing is Conquistador (Procol Harum). The band plays it often too. My son is lead singer and guitarist and she is keyboardist. Pretty good band if I have to say so myself. They used to practice at my house before they married and he moved out so I got to hear many wonderful songs of that era. The band also plays Besame Mucho too. |

Hi Claire....The band rehearses every Friday night and have gigs all over town. Charity benefits, wine tasting, private parties, etc. I'm bragging, as a mother should, but they are really good. Everyone in the band works - my son is a teacher and his wife a piano teacher - and most are professional people.
The music they play is mostly from the 50's, 60's and 70's and 80's. Both of them are great Beatle fans, but they play other music too. And, they understand my addiction to Andrea Bocelli. Dorris |
