Angel-voiced Andrea Bocelli and acclaimed Bulgarian soprano Tsvetelina Maldzhanska enchanted Sofia on Sunday in the National Palace of Culture.
The 90-minute long show only included opera pieces, to the dismay of those who prefer Bocelli's lighter songs. Nevertheless, the concert proved to be a memorable one for the 3,000 lucky connoisseurs who managed to grab the ticket.
Despite the fact that the concert was held in the Palace's biggest hall, the number of tickets was limited by the Tuscan-born tenor himself. Unlike pop diva Jennifer Lopez, whose requests for the later cancelled concert were endless, Bocelli has only asked for some tea and coffee in his dressing room.
Maldzhanska, who shared the stage with the man "with the most beautiful voice in the world", has already partnered names like world-acclaimed tenor Jose Carreras.
Bocelli is planning two or three closed-doors rehearsals before his appearance in Sofia. He has flown to Bulgaria in his private jet, and will leave immediately after the concert. The tenor has shared the stage with legends from all genres like Sarah Brightman, Celine Dion, U2's lead singer Bono, Luciano Pavarotti, and Eros Ramazzotti.
