Is there a certain area in Central Park where they usually have the concerts ? Just wondering where in the park the concert will be ... does anyone know if they had VIP seats for the Statue of Lberty concert ... maybe they will do the same as they did for the SOL concert ...

Hi everyone -
I was just reading about the Central Park concert in July. Is it true that we need to get tickets for this event? I thought that CP concerts were all first come first served - - if you get there early enough to get a spot on the grass you have a seat/spot for the concert.
Have they changed the procedure for this anniversary concert?

I am going to the concert and the partie .I have looked at all the costs and will be able to make it. I hope that there will be a place for those of us.That do not live in New York .To call or send for the tickets .I will be catching a bus up there.So look out New York here I come. :lol:

I only saw him once.In Atlantic City about two years ago .Seems like forever.I have never been the same since.We are of one mind on that. I will be on pins and needles untill the next time.I was so excited this morning after I had made my mind up about going.I could not go back to sleep.At 4:00am. See what he does to me.Just thinking about seeing him again sends me into dreamland overload.Well I hope to get to see as many of you as possable.I wonder why it is takeing them so long to get the info on the tickets out.I know it is a big thing to put on.But it is hard to wait. :!:

I don't know if anyone checked this out, but you can rent a bench for the concert..an idea..Ofcourse, the cost probably would be mucho $$$$$...
My day is before me and I have lots to do..AFTER I buy Tosca..ofcourse then I won't want to do ANYTHING

Em ... what do you mean rent a bench ? Have you done that before .... & where are the benches located .... who do you get in touch with to do this .... how big are the benches .. if they are big enough could many of us split the costs?? Nellie or Big Fan Sue have you ever heard anything about renting these benches ??

I contacted the Central Park people and they e-mailed me that there will not be any tickets. I guess you just go early and hope for the best. They have a web site listing the events of the day. I am getting so excited about this trip and actually seeing Andrea in person. Does anyone have any hotel suggestions? Is the Hard Rock Cafe close to the park?

Rent a bench :lol: That's a new one. I think Em was wishing she could rent a bench.
Free concert and no tickets. People will be there the night before with there sleepings bags trying to get a good spot. You never know what will happen yet as it seems lots of things are done the last minute or at least they don't let you know till the last minute.
Hard Rock Cafe is on 57th Street and you can easily walk to the Park. As far as hotels anything right near the Park is VERY expensive. I suggest checking the internet for a big chain hotel in the area like the Marriott or Sheraton and maybe they will give you a break in the price.
