After the postponement, the day of the concert finally arrived and it was sooo worth the wait. Nowlan Park was buzzing with anticipation, the weather was lovely, I was studying the programme to see what treats we had in store, and then at 8.10pm the orchestra took to the stage and we were off !

The line up was as follows;
Czech National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marcello Rota.
The Prague Chamber Choir.
Soprano; Doriana Milazzo.
Baritone; Gianfranco Montresor.
Pop; Rosalia Misseri.

The Programme;
Dvorak : Danza Slava n.2
La Gioronda : Cielo e mar
The Pearlfisher : Au fond du temple saint
The Merry Widow : Aria di vilja
Tosca : E lucevan le stelle
La Boheme: O soave fanciulla
Nabucco : Va pensiero
Carmen : Votre toast
Trovatore : Di quella pira
Il Trrovatore : Terzetto

Interval

Il Gattopardo : Valzer verdi
Vieni sul mar
Granada
Amarcord
Funiculi funicula
Mamma
La Strada
Besame Mucho
Somos Novios
Mi Manchi
Because We Believe

3 Encores - featuring The Prayer and Time To Say Goodbye

It was a truly magical evening, memories of which I will hold in my heart.
The Pearlfisher's Duet is one of my favourites - when I listen to it on CD it gives me goosebumps - to see and hear it performed live just blew me away - what a moment.
Andrea looked and sounded fantastic - I think the enforced rest coming up to the Irish concerts did him a power of good. He was happy and smiling, totally relaxed - glowing almost !
It was a night that I myself, and the thousands who were lucky enough to be there, will never forget.

His voice is a rare and beautiful gift - powerful, passionate and pure - how lucky and blessed we are to be able to share in this beautiful gift.

Kind Regards, Joan.

Dear Joan,
THANK YOU for posting your review! Not having heard anything about how Andrea's recovery was going, it was good to learn that he looked and sounded rested. I'm pleased to know that the weather was cooperative, and that you had such a wonderful time. An enjoyable programme, no doubt!

Again, Thank you!
Anna

Hi Anna,
Yes it was a terrific concert - Andrea was in great voice - the choir really added to the occassion - The Pearlfisher Duet made my day - the choice of songs on the programme were terrific, a fantastic mix.
I forgot to mention that 'Can't Help Falling In Love' was also one of the encores.
I'm still on a high really - 'that warm, fuzzy feeling' tends to stay with me long after the concert is over......Please God I'll get to do it all again in the not too distant future.
