A friend of mine went to see La Boheme last night at the Metropolitan Opera in NYC. She was very impressed with the performance (though the tenor could, in no way, hold a candle to Andrea - in song or looks) and went on and on about what a wonderful time she had. I won't bore you with the details as she adores Puccini and did go on at great lengths. I will, however, tell you the rest of the story: When she sat down, there was no one sitting on her left yet so she sat in anticipation, hoping it'd be the man of her dreams. Low & behold, a young man in a suit came in by himself. He will be sitting for the Bar exam this summer and will finish up his MBA in August. A hottie too! He's been to operas before, but not at the Met. He's never seen la Boheme so read up on it on the train into the city. CHA CHING she's thinking to herself, but she finds out in the second intermezzo that he's engaged....psssssssssss....that's the air deflating from her "Prince Balloon!" The point of all this? Well? he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out the booklet he'd read on La Boheme on the train and? it was the Bocelli CD booklet!!!!!! HA! What a hoot! His mom gave it to him to read up on it before the show - clearly a woman of GREAT taste!!!!!
