Is everything O.K., here? I feel bad for fans in Portland and Seattle.
What can you say? ..........especially to those who love him.
I was not going to Andrea's concert this time because I knew no one would go with me to MSG, the closest venue for me. Now that he is going to be at Mohegan Sun(much closer for me) I can. I was not able to take advantage of the presale because of wanting handicap seating which had to be done through MS only on Monday morning, but I did get tickets, so I'm grateful. Anyone else going to Mohegan Sun? _________________ Where there's life, there's hope |

I can't speak for anyone else, of course, but I find the upcoming USA tour pretty depressing with the cancellations. The east coast regulars get to go AGAIN while west coast folks thought they were finally getting a chance and then had to see it snatched away. New York people--when's the last time you saw Andrea in your city? What--a whole TWO months ago? Gosh, how did you stand it? Seattle people--when's the last time you saw Andrea in your city? IF you've been a fan for awhile, I do believe the answer to that question is 1999! If you're a newbie, the answer to that question is never. I know, I know, it's not the fault of the people who live on the east coast that they get to see THE MAN every other month (seems like it! ) while the rest of the country has a drought, it just has me depressed about the tour instead of excited. Makes me not feel too chatty. Can't speak for why others aren't speaking, though. |

Hello Janice,
I wish I knew the answers to these questions. While I don't pretend to know know all the considerations involved in planning a concert tour, it does seem curious that there doesn't seem to be more of a variety of cities included over the the course of several years. Regardless of what the reasons are, it doesn't make it easier for fans who live elsewhere to understand why concerts are not planned for their regions.
The east coast has had it's disappointments too, although you're correct, we're pretty lucky here. I think it's the cancellations that trouble me more than the actual venue locations chosen. I'll never forget how upset I was when the Worcester, Mass concert was cancelled a few years back. My husband, who normally works weekends, had taken time off from work, and we were planning on a nice peaceful time together.
Then...Poof! It was gone. Consider those who make plans to go overseas only to see those concerts cancelled. It must be heartbreaking. I'm hoping to go to Sicily in the spring, for Andrea's performance at Teatro Massimo, but such cancellations make one take pause.
It was nice to meet you in New York. Who knows...Maybe a differenet west coast concert might be added. Let's hope.
Be well,

| I agree with you totally Anna. There is so much more involved in concert-going than merely buying a ticket and having the cost refunded if it is cancelled. i am sure the reasons for cancellations are many and varied but it does seem to be a pity that sometimes no explanation at all is given. call it a missed PR opportunity if you will ! Some sort of expression of regret at least, would I am sure help to ease the disappointment when concerts have to be cancelled. To completely ignore the situation must add to the misery of those who have ,perhaps invested a lot of time and trouble as well as money. We know that Andrea understands that his fans sometimes have to go to great lengths to attend his concerts and other events. It is difficult to believe that such a courteous man would not wish some statement to be issued to fans in these circumstances. It is possibly that to apologise would be seen as accepting responsibilty for the cancellation but if this is the case I am sure an appropriate form of words could be agreed. |

I personally believe an explanation of some sort is always the way to go.
You are so correct, the concert experience involves so much more than simply buying a ticket. After travel, hotels, restaurant reservations, a cancellation affects more than a single phone call to ticketmaster
I'm of the opinion that it's those at the business end of things that bear the most responsibility in regards to such happenings. Acknowledging the disappointment and inconvenience to fans might not only ease their pain, but allow them to consider buying tickets at a later date. To not acknowledge fans' disappointments could possibly turn them off to purchasing tickets the next time around..
Here's hoping that all dates remain current!

From the NewsPortal on the OS....
Portland and Seattle
Due to technical logistical problems, outside the control and responsibility of Andrea Bocelli, we regretfully announce that the concerts scheduled for Portland and Seattle have been canceled. We hope to be able to return to these cities soon. Refunds are available at point of purchase. _________________ Beddu Turridu !!!!!!!!!!!! |

Hi all, I too, Anna, was so excited about the Worcester concert a couple years ago. My family gave this to me as a birthday present. It was cancelled, so we decided to go to Montreal, then that was cancelled. I cancelled hotel reservations but couldn't cancel plane fare and I lost quite a bit of money.
But I don't blame Andrea,--- management, maybe.
Anyway I finally went to a concert in MA last June and it was well worth the wait.
Funny these things can't be better planned and managed.

Dear Woodsie,
Oh my, YES! I'd forgotten about how that went for you! Of course...It was such a beautiful gift from your family. Such disappointment...We couldn't believe it when Montreal was then cancelled. You must have thought that you'd NEVER get to see Andrea in concert. What a fiasco!
Your wonderful first concert experience was well deserved and long overdue! Let's hope the road to your next concert holds no cancellations on the way!
Hugs to you, Amica,
