I was sorting some magazines this morning and found a Classic fm from June 2005 including an interview with AB on the eve of the release of Werther. On the Editors page was a short article I hadn't noticed before.
"Not a word of complain passed Bocelli's lips; he was just happy to help."
You learn very quickly in this journalism game that if something can go wrong, it will. Take my tape recorder, for example. I packed four new batteries in addition to the two already in it for the Bocelli interview but the thing still failed moments into our conversation. No problem, says Bocelli. Within seconds he'd produced his own recorder and we were back on track. Not a word of complaint passed Bocelli's lips, he was just keen to help a struggling hack. As they say, it's the little things that reveal so much. My tape recorder moment revealed almost as much about Bocelli as our subsequent conversation.
