hi all well Erik Weihenmayers book finally arrived on monday and i finshed it on wednesday.
you have to read this book it is just an incredible story of courage desire struggle and the will to win .
he vividly describes his descent into total darkness at 13 the way he remembers each little detail of his childhood will astound you.
his climbing stories are a mixture of suffering drama fear and brutal honesty, he leaves nothing out and brilliantly brings the mountains to life
if you read 1 book this week make it his!

I finally found this book at my local library. It's one of the best books I've read lately! Erik's honesty, sense of humor, and philosophical turns had me laughing and crying in rapid succession. He is clearly an adventure-seeker and probably would be one even if he had not lost his sight.
What an inspiration he is! Don't let anyone else decide what you can and cannot do! And if the usual way of doing something doesn't work, find your own way. |
