ANDREA BOCELLI NOMINATED FOR CLASSICAL BRIT AWARD

Classical Brit Awards nominees announced
Sir Simon Rattle, Andrea Bocelli and Chloe Hanslip lead the nominations for the fourth Classical Brit Awards 2003.
The event takes place at London's Royal Albert Hall on May 22, hosted by ITV News presenter Katie Derham.
Confirmed to perform at the ceremony are Andrea Bocelli, Bryn Terfel, Cecila Bartoli, Bond, Dominic Miller, Aled Jones and Maxim Vengerov.
Sir Simon Rattle receives three nominations at this year's event. His recording of Mahler Symphony No. 5 with the Berlin Philharmonic is nominated in both the Album of the Year Category and for the Critics' Award. He also receives a nomination in the Male Artist of the Year Award.
Child violin prodigy Chloe Hanslip receives two nominations - one for Female Artist of the Year with Magdelena Kozena and Renee Flemming, and one in the Young British Classical Performer with percussionist Colin Currie and pianist Paul Lewis.
Last year's Outstanding Contribution winner Andrea Bocelli is nominated in the Album of the Year category for his multi million selling album Sentimento. He also receives a nomination for the Male Artist of the Year alongside last year's winner Sir Colin Davis and Sir Simon Rattle.
Russell Watson is nominated in Album Of The Year category for his third album, Reprise.
Bond who are set to open the show, receive a nomination in the same category for their new album Shine, as does Aled Jones for his first album in 16 years the self-titled Aled.
The Contemporary Music Award will see composer Avr� Part, nominated for his Orient and Occident album, fight it out with Oscar-winning composers John Williams for Star Wars Episode II/Harry Potter The Chamber of Secrets and Howard Shore for The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers.
