BIRMINGHAM - A FAN'S OBSERVATIONS

EXCERPTS: This was my 4th magical experience of the charismatic force that is Andrea Bocelli. Andrea's popularity seems to transcend both social and generation boundaries. Everyone from grandmothers to dapper young men in cravats turned up at the National Indoor Arena to see him perform. Having experienced Dublin, Glasgow and now Birmingham on this current tour, I concur that this was a truly wonderful performance.
Having overcome his customary early concert nerves, Andrea seduced the audience as his sweet vocals drifted effortlessly from note to note through his traditional repertoire of Verdi, Tosti and Rodrigo. He was skillfully backed by the British Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by the superb Marcello Rota.
Andrea's performances are so powerful they transport you to another place, a place in which time stands still and all wordly problems apparently dissolve. He sang with such passion and energy that, even though you don't understand the language, you can feel it, and he makes you feel. Like Glasgow, there were more than a few tears - his rendering of Sogno, in particular, seems to trigger the emotions.
This was a fitting end to the final British leg of the "Sentimento" tour - a truly uplifting experience. I wish him a speedy return...

The world's heavenly tenor takes charge

The soft but powerful sound of the familiar voice hits you with its intesity, filling you with a melancholic joy that makes you cry. With its overwhelmingly penetrating emotions and dreamy romance, it aims straight for your heart.
No one but Andrea Bocelli can make you feel like this.
